I went to an event last night and listened to Natalia Cohen speak. Amazing. Loved every word. It began with her painting a visual picture with words of her epic adventure rowing across the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco to Cairns.

In a new paper in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the authors from Harvard University discussed the topic of paltering. They focused on situations where negotiating took place, and accurate information within those negotiations had consequences.

We’ve all told a “little white lie” I’m sure. No harm is done. Or is it? By telling “little white lies” we usually believe we are protecting the person we’re lying to, or in some cases protecting ourselves.
